Review of the Health and Safety Regulations that apply to the Upstream Petroleum Sector

The Department of Labour is currently undertaking a review of the regulations that provide for the safe exploration for, and production of, petroleum resources.

Public feedback on the proposed changes to these regulations, as set out in the discussion paper ‘Review of the Health and Safety in Employment (Petroleum Exploration and Extraction) Regulations 1999’, is now being sought.

The discussion paper has been produced to give interested parties the opportunity to express their ideas and opinions on the proposals. For further details on making a submission download a copy of the discussion paper.
